Chamber of
Commerce and others will be sponsoring the Tuesday Night in the park BBQs,
featuring delicious sirloin and chicken barbecued to perfection, by the Atascadero Elks Lodge famous BBQ crew. Entertainment will
include the the Atascadero Community Band 7:00 to 8:00 pm, displays of the Atascadero Art Association, volleyball tournaments and the
pedal boats for rent.
Food is served
from 5:00 to 7:00 pm
$8.00 adults
$4.00 Children 11 & under and $7.50 for seniors

kids entering grades 4th
thru 9th grades are encouraged to sign up for the 7th
Annual Summer “Tuesday Night in the Park” Jr. Sand Volleyball League. Join
this fun-filled volleyball league. Enjoy the warm summer evenings at the Lake
Park, parents bring your lawn chairs, grab a bite to eat from the local clubs
“fund raising BBQs” watch the game and listen to the “Community Band” after
the game.

U.K. INTERNATIONAL SOCCER CAMP
U.K.
International Soccer Camps are returning to Atascadero by popular demand. U.K.
International Coaches are primarily from Great Britain and have been specially
selected for their expertise in teaching children the game of soccer. The
camp program is age appropriate, child centered and designed to work on
specific technical skills.

Concrete pyramid with grind rails and stairs in
the center of the park. We also have concrete
fun boxes, 4’ wide and 10’ long, angled on all sides. Fun boxes are 8” and
12” tall. Wood banks can be found at
the end of the park and wood launch ramps in the middle. There are also three grind rails.
All participants must have a consent form signed
prior to skating, with parent’s signature if skater is under 18. All skaters and rollerbladers must wear a
helmet with straps. Bathroom
facilities are available.

Atascadero Police Explorer Post 48

The
Atascadero Police
Explorer Post 48 is a good way for youth and young adults to become involved with
police department activities while serving their community. It provides a
glimpse into training and job responsibilities of a law enforcement officer.
It also serves as a service-oriented, leadership experience, which instills
respect for law enforcement’s goal to protect and serve the public. The
Police Explorers find themselves participating in many different activities
including crowd and traffic control for community events, patrol
ride-a-longs, station and desk help, training various aspects of law
enforcement and helping in emergency situations.
The
Atascadero Police Department is currently looking for young people who want
to get involved in their community.
Each
candidate is required to submit an application and participate in an oral
interview with current police ecplorers. If successful in the interview and
application process, a brief background and history check will be conducted.
Once accepted into the program the Police Explorer must maintain at least a
2.0 GPA in school.

Come and check out over 400 classic cars cruisin’ down El Camino
Real, from Rosario rto Curbaril. It’s a fun, wholesome family oriented event for
cruisers and spectators. The Atascadero Main Street Association will be hosting a freee concert in the Sunken Garden’s Park at the completion of the cruise. The band will be
performing from 8:30 to 10:30 and there will be assorted food, beverage and merchant vendor
booths set-up in and around the park for the entire family to enjoy.

9th Annual
Atascadero Wine Festival and Golf Tournament
June 25 & 26, 2004
This exciting weekend kicks off Friday
morning with the Wine Festival Golf Tournament, a scramble format at Chalk Mountain Golf Course. Your registration will include green fees, cart,
prizes, and lunch. Proceeds will benefit the Chamber of Commerce Education
Scholarship Program.
The Atascadero Wine Festival
takes place Friday and Saturday. The majority of the proceeds go to benefit
the Charles Paddock ZOO. On Friday evening enjoy a five-course winemaker
dinner, wonderful San Luis
Obispo County wines, a Champagne Social Hour, and silent auction.
The lakeside wine tasting and fine arts
festival held Saturday afternoon at the Atascadero Lake Park from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm, will feature
wines of over 30 San Luis
Obispo County wineries.
